I come from a quilting family. I grew up playing under a quilt being quilted in the family room. My grandma and mom were big quilters. My mom loved to go to the fabric store and look and touch the fabric. When I was about 8 or 10 years old, I learned to hand quilt. One day when I was 12 or 13, I walked into a quilting bee and asked my mom if I could quilt. The other ladies didn’t dare tell me no because my mom was in charge. I sat down and quilted for awhile and when I left, the other ladies had to inspect my work. They were surprised how well I quilted, and some of the ladies even said, “she’s a better quilter than I am!”
Many years later, I started taking quilt classes at the local quilt stores with some friends. For many years I pieced quilts and would send them out to be long arm quilted. Several years ago, I learned how to long arm quilt and now I make my own quilts from start to finish. I love the whole process of creating quilts, from sewing the top together, choosing the backing, custom quilting and ending with a beautiful binding. Each quilt is created with lots of care and love. Look through the pictures and find the one or two that you would love to have!
